O’Neill’s Ulster GAA Coaching & Games Development Conference 2015
9th February 2015
The 11th O’Neill’s Ulster GAA Coaching & Games Development Conference will take place on Saturday 21st February 2015 in the Glenavon House Hotel, Cookstown. The theme of this year’s conference will be ‘Building Blocks to Improve Performance’ and will focus on the key skills of kicking and striking. These are key elements within our games that, if perfected and executed well, can lead to an open, exciting and fast spectacle.
The sessions will focus on the technical aspects of the skills but also on how these skills can be embedded into games to improve decision-making under match conditions.
Skills execution also depends on being in the right frame of mind and well conditioned to execute the skills in the game environment. The afternoon sessions will focus on the scientific preparation of players to perform the skills of Gaelic Games.
The delegate cost of £25 includes lunch and delegate pack.
Special guest speakers at the conference will be Ireland International Rules manager Paul Earley, and the former Kerry and Mayo coach Donnie Buckley.
There will also be a series of informative workshops, including:
- Analysis of Kicking Technique
- Kicking to Break the Blanket Defence
- Tactical Play in Hurling
- Games to Improve Kicking for Children
- Mental Preparation in the Training Environment
- Building Recovery into Player Programmes
- Activate GAA Warm up
- Nutrition and Hydration
