North Antrim U12 / U13 Hurlers put through paces

Saturday past in Ballycastle seen 90 U12 & U13 Hurlers from throughout North Antrim taking part in the 'North Antrim School of Excellence'.  For over 2½ hours these lads were put through their paces and all demonstrated a considerable amount of courage, determination and skill. 

 

These lads (all 90 hurlers) will train together as a panel through June and July, however a panel of 21 U12s and a further 21 U13s were chosen to play in Kilkenny on the 30th May. Congratulations to everyone who turned out and took part.

 

Those who were unlucky not to get chosen will be back with these squads through June and July and in Mid-August we will have a 'Festival of Hurling' where teams throughout Ireland will be invited to North Antrim to play against our U10, U11, U12 and U13 teams.

 

Our thanks to all our coaches today who had the unenviable task of choosing between these lads and to the

McQuillans club for the use of their excellent facilities. The future of North Antrim hurling is looking very bright.
