Could all clubs wishing to participate in the U10 go games Blitz in Glenarffe on Sunday 15th May please confirm their entry to me by e-mail.
This should be done on or before Wed 11th - any club not responding by this date will be deemed not to be participating.
Can I once again remind everyone of the protocol with these blitzes:
1. Silent sidelines - no one is to speak or shout at the referees. If a players does so, the ref is to ask for him to be substituted, If a manager does so the ref is to remove him from the field of play
Can I ask all clubs to instruct their referees to strictly adhere to this rule
2. Referees for these blitzes should be from U16 or minor if possible
3. This year only players & coaches are allowed "inside the wire". Again I would ask that every club strictly adheres to this
4. At the end of each blitz the host club is to submit a simple report to me. Report should include the following:
Number of players who had to be substituted due to 'verbals with the ref'
What club are these players with
Any Managers / Coaches who had to be asked to leave the field
Are any of the parents / supporters not acting in a sportsmanlike manner
Did all clubs turn up
Any club who continually disregard these rules could be excluded from future blitzes - please ensure that Players / coaches & parents are aware of these protocols.
Rules of the blitzes
* Teams will ideally be 10 a-side. 1 Goalkeeper / 3 backs / 3 MF & 3 forwards. (If some clubs do not have 10 then numbers will be matched i.e. 7 a side etc.)
* Accidentals 65s will result with a puc out. If a defender deliberately puts the ball over the end line a '65' will be awarded
* Players can kick the ball, but if a player kicks it in open play (where he could have used his hurl) a free should be awarded
* Matches will be 10 mins played straight through
